Liquor In Front ("we", "us", "our") is a utility that helps you find Utah liquor stores and check inventory. We built it to be as privacy-friendly as possible: we do not require accounts, we do not collect personal information, and we do not track you.
When you grant location permission, your device's GPS coordinates are used in real time to show you the nearest liquor store and provide directions. Your location is never stored on our servers, logged, or transmitted to any third party. If you deny location access, the app still works using a default location in Salt Lake City.
If you use the bottle-scan feature, your device's camera is accessed to read text from a bottle label. All text recognition happens locally on your device — no images or video are captured, stored, uploaded, or sent anywhere. Camera access is optional and only requested when you choose to scan.
We ask for your date of birth to confirm you are 21 or older. Your date of birth is never stored — we only save a pass/fail flag in your browser's session storage, which is automatically cleared when you close the app. Nothing is sent to a server.
The app may use your device's compass and motion sensors to orient the directional arrow. This data is processed entirely on your device and is never recorded or transmitted.
If you save favorite products, that list is stored locally on your device only. It is never uploaded or synced to any server.
We display publicly available information from the Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services (DABS) including store locations, inventory, and pricing. We may also display product ratings sourced from third-party services. We are not affiliated with DABS or any rating provider.
This app is intended for users who are 21 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21.
If we update this policy, we will revise the date at the top of this page.
